Turf Installation
Instant Green, Installed Properly
Fresh turf gives immediate results — but long-term success depends entirely on preparation and aftercare.
1. Site Preparation
Before laying turf, we prepare the ground to ensure strong root establishment and drainage.
Depending on the site, this may include:
- Removing existing grass and weeds using a turf cutter or controlled herbicide treatment
- Cultivating and grading the soil
- Refining the surface to create a smooth, free-draining base
- Levelling for a seamless finish
If starting from bare soil, we focus on correct grading and surface refinement before installation.
We then lay premium turf using industry-leading standards to ensure:
- Tight seams
- Level joins
- Strong soil-to-root contact
- A clean, professional finish
2. Installation Check (Approx. 10 Days)
We return to:
- Assess rooting progress
- Check soil moisture
- Ensure successful establishment
- Make any necessary adjustments
3. First Cut Guidance (Approx. 21 Days)
Once rooted (usually around three weeks), the lawn can be cut on the highest mower setting.
This encourages:
- Root development
- Thickening growth
- Long-term resilience

Natural Establishment, Long-Term Strength
Growing a lawn from seed requires patience — but delivers a natural, deeply rooted result.
1. Site Preparation
Preparation is critical to germination success.
We may:
- Remove existing grass and weeds
- Cultivate and grade the soil
- Create a fine, level seedbed
- Improve drainage where required
We then sow a bespoke grass seed mix selected for your site conditions — including exposure, soil type and usage.
To maximise germination rates, we:
- Sow evenly for consistent coverage
- Roll the surface to ensure proper seed-to-soil contact
2. Germination Visit (Approx. 14 Days)
Two weeks after sowing, we revisit to:
- Check germination progress
- Assess moisture levels
- Identify any patching requirements
3. First Cut (Approx. 28 Days)
When the new grass reaches cutting height (usually around four weeks), the first cut is carried out on the highest mower setting.
This promotes:
- Strong root systems
- Lateral growth
- Lawn thickening
